Revolutionizing Lagos State Real Estate: Insights from the 2023/2024 Industry Marketplace and Exhibition

Industry restructuring becomes imperative when operations deviate from the desired path. A government-supported platform, Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority(LASRERA) backed by key government parastatals, fosters an optimal business environment to provide an enabling environment and transparent Real Estate Sector, conforming with International best practices while safeguarding the interests of all Stakeholders.

 

In December 2023/2024, the Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwolu, significantly represented by the Honorable Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu–Fatai, at the 2-day Real Estate marketplace and exhibition that housed dignitaries and government officials in housing, lands, real estate, approval, regularization, customer protection agency, mortgage, insurance, and technology, both from the private and public sectors, offered valuable insights for industry restructuring.

 

Speaking into 2024 on advocacy, education, digitalization, and collective enforcement, setting a positive industry tone was Dr. Muibi Kehinde Hammed,  who had the honour to address the event and participate in the panel session in which he recommended eradicating unlicensed emergency developers and several others.

 

Dr. Muibi kehinde Hammed, CEO of MKH Properties Limited called on developers to uphold ethical practices, stay informed, and contribute to the industry’s positive evolution.

 

Further on, in a panel session, he advised the Government to eradicate emergency developers who do not go through the proper channel, LASRERA,  to own a license before operating. Also advising the Lagos State government on the benefits of partnering with Academic Institutions to provide periodical training and workshops to educate people.
